New Secure PDF Transcript Delivery Option

Dear Students,

The Office of the University Registrar is pleased to announce it has expanded your transcript delivery options to include a secure PDF. This version of the official transcript presents the same information, in the same format, found on the traditional printed documents. PDF delivered transcripts are secured by a digital certificate. This certificate insures the recipient of two important details:

  • The transcript has been prepared and delivered by the Office of the University Registrar, The University of Alabama.
  • The transcript is original and unaltered since prepared by the Office of the University Registrar.

To order a secure PDF transcript, simply log in to the Student tab of myBama. Under the Access Important Student Documents menu, select Order Official Transcript. The option to send a secure PDF transcript will appear once you have indicated that you wish to make a regular request to be delivered to a recipient. The service charge for the option of sending a transcript electronically as a secure PDF is $6.00 plus the cost of the transcript.

Important Note #1: You will be asked to enter a recipient’s e-mail address for any Third Party orders. It is your responsibility to make sure the e-mail address is entered correctly. If a recipient is another academic institution and the school is in the Credentials’ “TranscriptsNetwork™”, the order form will not ask for an e-mail but the transcript will be sent electronically based on the recipient’s electronic preferences. In either case, you will get an acknowledgement from the system when the recipient has opened the transcript.

Important Note #2: Certificate of Authenticity - The University of Alabama has appointed Credentials Inc. as the designated agent for processing and sending official electronic transcripts. The electronic transcript that is produced using this service contains the identical information as the printed transcript and can be certified as unaltered by uploading the file to the company’s website that is provided during the delivery process as well securing the document with a digital certificate. Credentials Inc. has been granted the authority to deliver all such electronic transcript requires on behalf of the University of Alabama and will respond to any inquiries regarding the transactions.
