The University of Alabama is a participant in the Reverse Transfer system with the National Student Clearinghouse. Reverse Transfer is for students who transferred to the University of Alabama from a two-year institution prior to completing an Associate’s degree. Students will have the option to have their University of Alabama credits transferred back to the two-year institution for evaluation and determination of eligibility for an Associate’s degree. The University of Alabama record will not be transmitted to the two-year institution without consent from the student.
An incoming student will have the option to consent during the transfer admission application process. A current student who transferred to the University of Alabama from a two-year institution and is interested in this opportunity may provide consent through the Reverse Transfer Consent form in myBama.
Not all two-year institutions participate in Reverse Transfer; however, many do such as those in the Alabama Community College system. It is solely the responsibility of the two-year institution to evaluate the student’s record and determine the student’s eligibility for the Associate’s degree. Students should contact the two-year institution directly with questions regarding eligibility, award dates, deadlines for receipt of degree, any associated fees, etc.
